To complete our first full week of Fall Sports, the Bears hit the gridiron and got their first win of the season against a formidable Corona High School Squad. This battle between the two oldest schools in Riverside County was not decided until late in the fourth quarter. The Bears jumped on the Panthers early with two td’s in the first quarter. Bud Bernie started the scoring and was joined in the end zone by Josh Harrel a few minutes later to stake the Bears to a 14-0 lead. The Panthers did not go quietly and exchanged scores the rest of the first half to go into halftime 23-14. From that point, both teams’ defenses stiffened and did not allow another score the rest of the way. The Bears will now face #1 ranked Bonita HS on Friday, September 6th at Bonita HS. Please come out and support the Bears this week. GO Bears!
