On a day where several kids rested in preparation for the Clovis Invite and injured athletes recovered, many team members were introduced to a true “old school” cross country course. Yup…this course is 3 miles of tough hills and rough terrain…including a section where athletes had to jump over an obstacle that resulted in a few “face plants” throughout the day. It is worth noting that running within 90 seconds of your PR at this course would be fantastic and (most likely) a big PR at any other course. It was also an interesting race because all 6 of the IVL schools came to this meet to preview the course.
Note: Athletes were separated into their grade-level races and several did not compete, so we will focus on individual times more than team results as some races didn’t even have 5 athletes to complete a team score.
