Multiple Teams · Poly Water Polo Destroys IVL – Athletes of the Week

The Riverside Poly Men’s Water Polo Team completed a clean sweep of the Inland Valley League last Wednesday by beating John W. North High School 26-7. That completed an undefeated League season as well as winning the Inland Valley League Carousel. The Bears will have one last non-league match this coming Saturday versus #1 Division 3 ranked Oaks Christian for final tuneup for the CIFSS playoffs. The Bears also defeated Valley View High School on Monday in a weather shortened match, 8-0. The Bears will enter the playoffs ranked 5th. The Bears did not stop with just winning the Inland Valley League Carousel, they also won the prestigious Servite Tournament over the weekend. The Bears avenged an early loss to Tesoro in the final, 16-7. The match had an interesting twist in that it was a match-up of a father/son. It was the battle of the Cardey’s. Tesoro had stunned the Bears earlier in the year with a hard fought match at Tesoro High School.

The Bears will not set their sights on the CIFSS Playoffs which begin on Wednesday November 9th. Please wish them luck as they look to win their 9th CIFSS Title. Go Bears!
